Teachers told ‘not to go to school anymore’ – DepEd

The Department of Education (DepEd) said on Tuesday that public school teachers are no longer required to go to their respective schools, particularly in areas where classes have been cancelled due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones, in DepEd Memo No. 42. 2020, noted that during the period of class suspension in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other areas, “teachers are not required to report to schools” unless they are called to report by the Schools Division Superintendent on learner-related 
matters “if the same cannot be done at home or online
