Possible extension of community quarantine
Studies suggest that the country is only at the beginning of this COVID-19 crisis. Dr. Darwin Bandoy of the College of Veterinary Medicine at UP Los Baños said that the reported cases will only peak in the last week of June 2020
While the country is currently containing the spread of COVID-19 in our lockdown efforts, note that a nightmarish explosion of cases could still occur once quarantine is lifted up mid-April 2020, according to Dr. Jomar Rabajante of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics at the University of the Philippines (UP) Los Baños.
The government might have to enforce prolonged and more stringent lockdown for the succeeding months.
The World Health Organization (WHO) also said that the needed vaccine may come up after one year and six months or in 2021 due to safety approvals.
